FREE rapid antigen tests now available for home testing.

Rapid antigen tests can be ordered through a new website and picked up from a collection site.

If you are symptomatic or a Household Contact, you can now order rapid antigen tests (RATs) through the newly launched RAT requester website.

CURRENT ALERT LEVEL: Life at Red

03/03/2022 All of New Zealand is in the traffic light system: RED, we need to take action to protect our vulnerable communities and our health system from COVID-19.

Learn what we all need to do.

Key Points when in the traffic light system - RED:
 
  • Red is not a lockdown, but there are restrictions to slow the spread of COVID-19.
  • You will always be able to access basic needs services, such as food and healthcare.
  • You can travel anywhere in New Zealand for any reason, and see friends and whānau. 
  • You must wear a face mask on flights, public transport, and taxis, in retail shops and public venues, and in health and education facilities.
  • With My Vaccine Pass, most parts of life continue as usual. You can visit cafes and bars, attend gatherings and events, and go to the hairdresser and gym. There are capacity limits and distancing requirements at some venues.
  • Without My Vaccine Pass, there are restrictions.
  • Workplaces and schools are open.
  • Keep scanning QR codes and recordkeeping wherever you go.
  • Keep physically distanced wherever possible.
  • If you have cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms, isolate immediately and call Healthline for advice.

Our Outreach and Advocacy Team is able to assist you and a direct referral to one of our advocates can be made via our 0800 GRANDS (0800 472 637) helpline service.

  • 0800 Whats Up? - is Barnardos’ helpline for tamariki and rangatahi in Aotearoa. It’s available free  nationwide, for children and teenagers to call or chat online with one of their counsellors. Call 0800 942 8787 or Chat with them online

Support for Children and Young People in Foster Care, Oranga Tamariki Care, Whanau or Grandparent Care
 
  • Voyce Whakarongo Mai - Connects children and young people in care with advocates and trusted adults to help them have their say. During the VOYCE’s phone line is open and their Kaiwhakamana are following up advocacy requests via phone and online. VOYCE – Whakarongo Mai is also continuing its outreach to caregivers and children in care via phone and preparing a steady stream of virtual tuhono connection events to keep tamariki and rangatahi atawhai engaged and occupied at home. Call 0800 4VOYCE (0800 486 923)
